Redesigning Offshore Floating Wind Turbines: A Novel Solution with Vibration
Control and Energy Harvesting Systems
Harnessing wind and waves for safer, longer-lasting offshore energy.
Floating offshore wind energy has the potential to supply enormous amounts of clean power, but floating turbines face major challenges from wind–wave interactions, fatigue, and structural vibrations. The OCEAN project addresses these challenges with a novel integrated approach that combines advanced simulation tools, vibration control systems, and energy harvesting devices.
